Begin your journey with a comfortable airport transfer and free time to relax or explore Bangkok at your own pace. The following day, discover the city’s most iconic cultural landmarks, including the
Grand Royal Palace,
Wat Phra Kaew, home to the revered Emerald Buddha,
Wat Pho, famous for its impressive Reclining Buddha, and
Wat Traimit, home to the renowned Golden Buddha. Continue with a traditional
long-tail boat excursion along the Chao Phraya River and Bangkok’s historic canals, with a visit to the spectacular
Wat Arun.
Your Bangkok experience continues with a fascinating day beyond the city center. Visit the unique
Maeklong Railway Market, where local vendors operate alongside an active railway line, followed by a traditional boat journey through the waterways of
Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, offering an authentic glimpse into local Thai life and commerce. Return to Bangkok and explore the
Jim Thompson House, a remarkable collection of traditional Thai teak architecture, art, and cultural heritage.
With a balanced combination of
royal history, Buddhist temples, river adventures, traditional markets, architecture, and authentic local experiences, this itinerary provides an excellent introduction to both the cultural heritage and vibrant character of Bangkok.
Upon arrival, have your free time for leisure or wander around the city to admire the tranquil atmosphere in its surroundings. Stay overnight in Chiang Rai.
Morning after breakfast, we will visit the local market to discover the local products. After that we visit the world-famous Wat Phra Kaew where the Emerald Buddha image was once enshrined. Move on to Wat Phra Singh where one of Thailand’s most beautiful Buddha images is now enshrined. Then a short drive from Chiang Rai City to Black House. Baan Dam (Black House) is the unique creation of national artist, Thawan Duchanee. Part art studio, part museum, part home, Baan Dam is an eclectic mix of traditional northern Thai buildings interspersed with some outlandish modern designs. Lunch on your own account and in the afternoon we will take our boat cruise on Mae Kok river from Chiang Rai to Karen village. Transfer back to Chiang Rai.
After breakfast, drive to visit Chiang Saen, the ancient city located on the Khong Riverbank. After that, visit the House of Opium Museum which shows about the opium’s history in the past in Thailand. Have lunch by your own account at the local restaurant on the Golden triangle. Taking a boat trip along the Mekong Kong River to see Thailand, Burma & Laos meet at the Golden Triangle before transferring back to Chiang Rai for your flight to next destinations.
